DENSO and Lambda:4 cooperate to advance Bluetooth Channel Sounding

DENSO and Lambda:4 Entwicklungen GmbH take great pride in the Bluetooth SIG’s recent adoption of the Bluetooth 6 specification, which introduces Channel Sounding - a revolutionary advancement in Bluetooth technology. This technology enables secure fine ranging in the Bluetooth ecosystem and paves the way for the proliferation of secure, low-cost, low-power, location-based products.

Historically DENSO and Lambda:4 have worked collaboratively in the Bluetooth SIG to advance the development of the Channel Sounding specification and identify ways to leverage this new technology. Outside the Bluetooth SIG, DENSO and Lambda:4 have partnered to develop Channel Sounding solutions, furthering automotive access systems like phone-as-a-key (PaaK). The new Channel Sounding standard will allow augmentation of existing PaaK capabilities while enabling new features that enhance the user experience.

Industries stretching from access control to asset tracking to audio to AR/VR, can all benefit. To fully leverage the benefits of the new Channel Sounding standard, algorithms are required that translate the Bluetooth data into a distance.
